Photo Tag
Okay....thanks Whitney for the tag. I thought it was a super fun idea until I realized just how messy my house is.
Disclaimer: I have 3 boys (4 if you count Rob) and am 37 1/2 weeks pregnant. My house is USUALLY cleaner than this but I ran out of steam last night. So...don't judge too harshly.
(Oh...and I'm still a photo amateur...I guess I should have used the flash in most of these pictures. Oh well...at least it hides some of the mess.)
So...now I get to tag a few people. Let's see...who would be most likely to do it? Natalie, Sheena, Julie J., Julie G., and Amanda.
Remember...no touch ups and no cleaning before hand. Just...."as is" :)

Testing...testing...1...2...
Just thought I would post a few pics taken with our new camera. It was lots of money but so far we're happy with it's quality.
Yes...my belly is practically resting on the counter. By the time we were done with the cookies the underside of my belly was covered in flour/sugar/cinnamon.

Making cookies with the boys (apparently it has become a new Sunday night tradition)

(funny...those pans sitting on the counter in the background last night are STILL sitting on my counter tonight. Can we say "lazy"! GO ahead...with me now...LAZY!)

Lost...lost...lost
I've lost my coupon organizer.
Not so surprising...seeing that I can't seem to keep my name straight, but I am disappointed none the less.
Bummer.
Lots of money and lots of potential money packed into that thing.
I feel like I have lost a dear friend...I'm not sure I will ever be the same.
I have to start all over....
Sniff...sniff.

Our New Arrival
Psyche...made you look!
Nope....this arrival did not come in a little, cute, squishy, cuddly package.
It is a much, much bigger package (and thank goodness I didn't have to push it out!).
So here's the run down.
We had a couch...a couch that we purchased the week before Isaac was born (about 2 1/2 years ago). We took it in for repairs about 10 days ago. We have been surviving with a rocker recliner. That's right...one lousy rocker recliner to 5 people. NOT SO GOOD!
I called today to see how the repair was coming. Apparently there was a "mix up" and we hadn't been reached because they "didn't have our phone number" and they were "so glad I called so they could get things worked out and BEGIN work on the couch." "But don't worry...it should only take another week and a half...or so...to get it fixed." I was furious! After explaining to the girl on the phone that "I completely underst[ood] that none of this [was her] fault personally" I politely told her just how irritated I was that it had already been 10 days and NOTHING had been done. I told her that I was 8 1/2 months pregnant...that this couch was our ONLY couch and that I was forced to share a rocker recliner with the entire household (although the queen did come first).
I then called the Spokane store, where we purchased it from, to see if I could get the ball rolling on their side (and they were so nice to me even though it was none of their fault either). The girl promised she would call the Tri-Cities store and get things squared away really quickly.
15 minutes later I get a call from the Tri-Cities store saying that they can not fix our couch so they are just going to replace it. Score....now I wouldn't have to clean it when we finally got it back (and believe me....it REALLY needed cleaning). The only downside was that it would take two weeks to get in. But, they told us that we could come pick up our old couch and use it until the new one came. Double score! I just wanted a blasted couch to sit on!
3-4 hours later I got another phone call from the Tri-Cities store telling me that an extra replica of our couch had shown up with today's shipment and we were welcome to pick up our brand spanking new couch tonight instead of picking up the old one and swapping it later.
Um....talk about TRIPLE SCORE! I was super excited.

Isn't it beautiful?

It's so clean and non-stinky. Never been wet on or leaked on or sweat on or....well, you get it.
I had a talk with the kids too. One of those life or death talks.
Here was the jist of it...
No shoes, no standing, absolutely no jumping, no food, no leaky diapers and ABSOLUTELY NO WET, DIRTY UNDERWEAR (eyes boring into one child in particular).
In fact, I told them they are lucky if they get to sit on it at all.
I'm mean....but it's pretty...and non-stinky...and pretty.
You would think that was the end of the tale. Well it's not. You're in luck. There's more.
We did it. We really did it. We made the financial sacrifice and purchased a couch and love seat. Rob and I will soon be the proud owners of this bad boy...
Plus the matching love seat.
It's super comfortable and has an incredible 5 year warranty that even includes anything you (or in this case...any of our four boys) do to it (cuts, tears, burns...etc). The only downfall here is that it will take a month or so to come in and the love seat another 2-3 weeks after that. But, I talked the dude (salesman guy) into having the sofa delivered as soon as it comes in and then we will be responsible to pick the love seat up (with our van) when it becomes available. Totally worked it out!
Money certainly can't buy happiness but...sometimes the things it can buy put a smile on my face anyway.
It'll take that!

Just the two of us...
Well, Rob and the two older boys left for Rexburg (for Rob's brother Kyle's wedding) this morning. I'm stayed home with Isaac. He and I will have a bit (a lot) of one-on-one time this weekend. I'm glad for it. He's a sweet thing and SOOOOOO easy when he is by himself.
What I wasn't counting on was how much I was going to miss my other boys. I always miss Rob when he's gone but I thought I would be super happy to be down to one kid for 3 days. Turns out....I miss them too.
That's good for me to realize. I needed that.
Rob...please take care of my babies.

To spend or not to spend...that is the question.
So we got a pretty big tax return this year (several thou) and it's so tempting to spend it ALL.
But...I LOVE my savings account and I love to watch it grow even more.
I just don't know what to do.
We want more furniture. All we own is one couch and a LaZBoy recliner. This week the couch has been back at the store for repairs and between the living and family room we have....you guessed it....the recliner. Makes for very hard relax/snuggle time with the hubby/kids.
Tell me...is spending the money for more worth it?
Second...we have been looking into a camcorder FOREVER. Just because. Do all y'all think a purchase like that is worth it? Those of you who have a camcorder...do you use it?
Please....I need help. I'm so torn.

Th winds of change.....
"You hear that?"...You hear that?...It's the winds of change..."
And...oh boy, it looks like a tornado!
Life is about to take on another great change! We're excited....we're nervous...we're just plain scared. But....ready or not, here it comes!
We have been preparing for "The Big Event" with a few minor changes around the house.
Gabe got a brand new bed...Cael got new sheets (random, I know) and Isaac inherited a "big boy bed." We wondered how Isaac would receive his new found freedom and, just like moving him in with Gabe, have been pleasantly surprised by how well he has adjusted.
I went in to check on him the other night and found him like this, with his face smashed up against the bed frame. This is a long standing, very long standing, habit for him. Since he was a month or so old, he would wiggle up to the corner of the pack n' play that he slept in and smash his face up against it as well. He has awaken several mornings with crib bar marks on his face. Old habits die hard. I guess my hip bones must have been super comforting to the little guy.
Cael took a crack at Gabe's bike this week. We lowered the seat and put the training wheels back on. He did a fantastic job and was really proud of himself. We are going to go out this week and get him one of his own. The poor kid hardly gets anything new so we are very happy to be able to do this for him.
Next week Rob and the two oldest are going out of town for a wedding. Isaac and I are going to go " all nest-y crazy!" I plan on washing all the baby clothes/blankets/etc., fixing up the corner of Cael's room that will be his "nursery" (even if he wont be sleeping in it for a short while...although the "in-room service" time gets shorter and shorter with each kid), cleaning like crazy and hanging out with my "baby" who will not be my "baby" for much longer.
tick tock, tick tock....33 days and counting.
