A whole lotta yellin' up in dis house

It's bad enough that we have a house full of boys.  I hear they are naturally pretty loud (I don't have anything else to compare to).  Then you add in that Rob inherited hearing loss from his mothers side (not really...they just all talk REALLY loud)... AND they have an obnoxiously boisterous mother (at least that's what my siblings used to say) on top of it.

They had no chance.

So...what does that have to do with today?

Well...several months ago we stopped letting the kids play Lego Batman or Lego Starwars on the XBOX.  They used to play it with their dad every Saturday.  But...we got sick of the yelling, fighting and crying that ensued before, during and after play.

Bye Bye games....it's been nice.

Today we decided to give it another "go."

Rob is tired of the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth that is sure to be a part of "Saturday Toy Room Cleaning Time" and asked if he could pull out "the big guns."  "I guess," I said with a sigh.

"If you can get this room clean in 15 minutes...without whining...we will play 'Lego Batman' after lunch", he told them.

Cheers all around.

And they did it.  With 1.2 minutes to spare. 

Play...lunch...Lego Batman time.

Happy day!  Not really!

Screaming...fighting...Little Red was sent to his room for a bit...more yelling...more fighting...and boobing....Oh BOY!  A WHOLE LOT OF BOOBING after the game was turned off.

"Rob....it's gonna be a long time," was all I had to say.

"Yep..."

Bye bye games.  I'm not sad at all to see you go!

G-McBabe's Baptism---July 9, 2011

I thought it was about time I started documenting our summer vacation.  It just seems like such a daunting task.  I hate digital cameras for that reason.  You just end up taking too many pictures.

Anyhow...I thought i would start with the highlight of our trip.  G-McBabe's Baptism.
G-McBabe was baptized (by his father) and confirmed (by his Grandpa G) a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on July 9, 2011.  It was a really exciting day not only because it was his baptism but his birthday as well.  He was surrounded by tons of family who love him and support him.  We are so proud of our G-McBabe for making such an amazing decision.  It just get's better from here.

"I'm the dad and you're the Father and you're the brother"

 I was just in the hall, changing a rancid poopy diaper when I overheard my 5 year old (little red) playing in his room with two neighbor boys.

"Let's play Mommy and Daddy," a neighbor says.

Okay...this could be interesting.

"No...let's play Daddy and Father," red says, "...oh, and you be the brother," he tells the three year old neighbor.

"Okay," they say.

You see...at our house...there are no females to play the "mommy."

The game continues...."Okay, let's go to sleep."  "Cockadoodledoo...time to get up."

"What does a father do?" one of the neighbor boys asks.

"I don't know," little red says.  "Well,  where is the mommy?" neighbor boy says."  "She's dead," informs my son.  "Oh...."

"Let's go shopping," red says.  "Okay."

then my 4 year old want to join in...."I wanna go shopping to."  "Okay...you can be another brother."

Yep...that's how it is in our house.  Boys, boys, boys....and mom's dead (or at least on the computer writing so much she might as well be so...he he he).

Now they are singing "Happy Birthday" and there is a horse involved somehow.  My how life evolves in just a few seconds.

Just thought it was funny.

My very existence in one word..."poop"

I'm frustrated.  I grab the phone and go outside.  Mail...I'll check the mail.  That's what I'll do.  Just get me out of here.
When I'm done I sit on the front lawn and call Rob at work.
"How are you?"  he says.
"Frustrated."
"Why?"
"I have wiped bums over 40 times today and  ___________ (we will call him child XYZ) has pooped in his pants three times in the last 45 minutes.  I swear, I'm gonna scream." 

"So what are you gonna do?" 

"I told him he had to put on a pull up and would have to pay me for every one of them he poops in.  And...HE'S UPSET with me because I wont let him go outside and jump on the trampoline (do you blame me?...visions of poop...eveRYwhere)."

Just then another child comes out and says, "Mom...I have to go poop."

Rob starts laughing. CASE. IN. POINT!

Can we say probiotics....HELLO! (which I have already administered)

If only that was that.

While I am sitting here typing child XYZ comes in from playing outside and says, "Mom, were you REALLY serious about me having to pay you for the pull-ups?"

"DID YOU POOP IN YOUR PANTS AGAIN!?!?"

"Yes."  

ARRRRGGGGGGGG!!!!

I put him on a potty time out.  "Just stay there for a while,"  I said.

Seriously. 

I'm leaving for an undisclosed amount of time as soon as Rob gets home.

Ignorance may not be bliss...but in some cases it's better

Rob always asks me what time the kids got up in the morning.  He's very persistent.  He wants to know.

I, on the other hand, never know because I try hard not look at the clock when they come waddling into my room.

Especially if it's still dark outside (even worse in the summer).

I'd rather just not know.

If I know how little sleep I've gotten it makes me irritable and anxious.

I choose ignorance.

I choose to pretend it's been over 8 hours.

I'd rather just not know the truth.

Lifelong dream DO come true!

I have ALWAYS wanted of one of these....

I used to spend all day, every day trampoline hopping around the neighborhood (since we never had one).  I loved to jump.  I still do.

We ordered it online.  It arrived site to store while we were on vacation.

So...instead of unpacking and putting my house (and life) back in order, I spend the day putting up this puppy.


Took me 3 tries and most of the day but I finally got it put together 100% correctly...at about 10:00PM.

IT.  IS. AWESOME!

Kudos to Roberto hubby.  I couldn't have finished (and finished, and finished) without his brute strength.

I know what you are thinking...injuries, injuries, injuries....but it can't be any worse than putting your child in football or gymnastics and both Rob and I survived those without brain damage (at least I did...he he he...Mr. Five Concussions Man).

Little Red and Mini Rob also put good use to the boxes.  They used them as "beds" last night.  We didn't think they would actually fall asleep like this....but the did.  Too funny!

I'm happy to say that I have not been on the trampoline yet this morning.  I have been getting down to business and taking care of my responsibilities.  Already I have...

De-laudryfied the laundry room

Washed the Leaning Tower of Pisa replica-made of dishes

and swept the floor

Now I will feel guilt free as I spend all afternoon throwing tricks and just all-out-enjoying myself on my (I mean, my kids) new toy.
